The JCMS Panther Softball team has kicked off their season on a positive note, securing three wins. Tomorrow night at 4:30, they will be playing against Calhoun in a home game.

We had an amazing time at our last "Reading in the Park" event! Mr. Rod Jackson captivated the kids with his storytelling skills, reading the fascinating tale "Three Names." But that's not all – he also took them on an exciting journey through history, teaching them about one-room schoolhouses and showcasing items from that era.
The children had a blast enjoying snacks, spending quality time with Bluey from the Jerseyville Public Library, and unleashing their creativity with coloring books provided by the talented Jersey County Arts Council. And the highlight of the day was when they crafted their own Crayon characters using popsicle sticks!
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the City of Jerseyville, the City of Grafton, and the Village of Fieldon for generously allowing us to use their beautiful parks as the perfect setting for our events. To the Jersey County Arts Council and Jerseyville Public Library, thank you for always going above and beyond! Your support made this experience even more special! Thank you to everyone involved!
A BIG thank you also goes out to our Reading Coaches, Mindy Jackson, Sara Pranger, and Barbara Smith. Your hard work and dedication to prepare for these events have driven our success, and we're so grateful for your efforts!
Last but not least, we extend our appreciation to all the wonderful families who joined us this summer. Your enthusiasm and active participation made each event truly memorable. Together, we're creating a love for reading and learning that will last a lifetime!

Due to the ongoing excessive heat, we want to ensure everyone's safety and comfort during our "Reading in the Park" event. Therefore, we've made the decision to move the event INDOORS at Grafton Elementary School.
🗓️ Date: Wednesday, July 26th
⏰ Time: 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
🏢 New Venue: Grafton Elementary School
While we had hoped to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, this change will allow us to continue the event without worrying about the extreme weather conditions. Don't miss out on this unique reading experience! It's the perfect opportunity to beat the heat while indulging in the magic of storytelling!

Our final Reading in the Park of the summer will be held at Grafton's Grove Memorial Park on July 26th at 10:30. Come down to the river for crafts, snacks, and book-loads of fun!

We had a great time at Reading in the Park today! We went to the Jersey County Court House, where the Honorable Judge Allison Lorton read "The Bad Seed." We had a surprise visit from Miss Jersey County, Kyndal Price, along with a friendly dinosaur from the Jerseyville Public Library. The Jersey County Arts Council helped the kids create bad seeds (or good seeds 😊), and Mrs. Kelly Miller brought more great 3D prizes that she created. We raffled off some books and Donor City Pool passes too. Thank you to everyone involved!

It was another great week for Reading in the Park! Today, we went to Grafton Red Hawk Park, and Mrs. Mindy Woelfel, Grafton Elementary Principal, read How I Became a Pirate. The Jersey County Arts Council helped the kids create a pirate from a spoon. Pete the Cat came for a visit from the Jerseyville Public Library, and Mrs. Kelly Miller made bookmarks for each child to take home. She also created a 3D frog that was raffled off! We send a big THANK YOU to everyone involved!

Grafton's Red Hawk Park will host Reading in the Park this Wednesda, July 12th at 10:30. You won't want to miss this one!

Happy Independence Day, Jersey 100 families!
