Bi-annual Masters of the Constitution breakfast:
The spirit of the Framers is alive and well with the Class of 2023! These JCHS seniors are the Masters of the Constitution. They are the highest scorers on this semester’s exam in JCHS senior Government classes.
This test is a real challenge. To achieve a top score, you must not only learn dozens upon dozens of the small details, you must also understand the "spirit of the U.S. Constitution". This can only be achieved by dedicating yourself to a true understanding of the history of the creation of the document.
We salute these seniors for their dedication. ❤️
Matilynn Thornsbury, Jersey County Queen, paid a visit to West Elementary Kindergarten Classes. She read a book to students and helped make a holiday craft. Her love for kids really shined! These kiddos absolutely loved listening to her read and was mesmerized by her royalty! Thanks so much Queen Matilynn!
West Elementary has the BEST kitchen staff!!! Not only did Mrs. Heafner and Mrs. Ontis fix a delicious holiday dinner yesterday--they took time out of their busy schedule and made ornaments with our students!!!

JCMS Panthers Wrestling:
In their home opener on the season, the JCMS wrestling team had a great night on the mats! After a back and forth 57-47 loss to Collinsville, the Panthers took down East Alton - Wood River 77-30!
The Treble 3 choir, under the direction of Margaret Bear, sang Christmas Carols at the Liberty Village Nursing Home today. The students did a tremendous job, and everyone loved the carols. The Treble 3 Chair also delivered handmade cards from the JCHS Media Center and Maker Space. The students at JCHS made over 75 cards for the residents.
Sixth Grade Students in Mr. Madson and Mr. Strauch's Classes got to apply their coding knowledge this week. The students coded drones to make a delivery following a given path. The students enjoyed the challenge and loved watching their drone fly.

Challenge accepted! Students in Mrs. Noble’s 3rd grade class were challenged with getting out of their comfort zone and reading more chapter books by being given a chapter book challenge. Students so far have read 215 chapter books in the one month since starting the challenge. Jaxon and Amelia are tied with the most by each reading 19 chapter books so far!
