Students in Ms. Muenstermann's 5th grade Social Studies class studied the globe outside today while reviewing the continents and oceans.


Students in Ms. Herkert's Canva Electives class tapped into their imagination and tried different features to create designs of interest to them. They will begin creating signage for the JCMS Library in the near future!


JCMS students tested their building skills by creating straw towers in the new JCMS Library Makerspace.

Congratulations to the JCHS Girls Tennis team for winning their flight in the Heather Bradshaw Memorial Tournament! They had wins over Springfield, O'Fallon, and Morton to finish off a great weekend of competition. Way to go Panthers!


Today, Mrs. Williams's kindergarten students showcased their skills by constructing vibrant Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees inspired by the captivating story they read. This fun, hands-on activity followed a week of diligent letter practice.



JCMS launched a new program today called Friday Electives - students had 32 special electives classes to choose from to explore passions and interests. Classes included: cooking, science experiments, creative writing, line dancing, bracelet making, technology, history mysteries, coding, fitness, jazz band, and many more. The students and teachers had so much fun!





JCMS Softball had an amazing last home game of the regular season winning against Alton 7-0.
Blue Crew cheered them on!

In celebration of Labor Day, we would like to inform you that all Jersey 100 schools and the District Office will be closed on Monday, September 4th. This day serves as a tribute to the hardworking individuals who contribute to the prosperity and growth of our nation.
We hope this allows you to spend quality time with your loved ones and enjoy a well-deserved break. Regular school operations will resume on Tuesday, September 5th.

The Marching Panthers taking full advantage of the new turf field at JCHS! Preparing for the home opener on September 8th at The Don Synders Sports Complex.




JCMS PE classes are thrilled to utilize the new turf football field at the athletic complex on a daily basis! This facility allows our students to participate in outdoor activities in ways that were not possible before. Thank you Jersey County!


Spanish students at JCHS learned about and celebrated ¨La Tomatina¨ festival, a giant tomato fight in Buñol, Spain, on the last Wednesday of August each year. Students had their own ¨tomato¨ fight while practicing vocabulary and past and present tense verbs in Spanish.





Kate Heitzig has been selected for a seat on the 2023-24 Illinois State Board of Education Student Advisory Council!
She is one of 20 students chosen from around the state to help drive policies and regulations that will improve learning, outcomes, and academic achievement.

Grafton Elementary had the pleasure of welcoming Mayor Morrow to our school today! He joined Mr. Holder's music class to learn about Louis Armstrong, one of the most famous jazz musicians of all time. We are grateful to Mayor Morrow for taking the time to visit.




The JCHS Girls Golf team hosted their first match of the year. Payton Mooney won her head to head match and had the lowest score on the team.

Students in Advanced Stem classes with Mr. Perdun and Mr. Short are researching, designing, and constructing gliders. They began with an introduction and investigation into the principles of flight and will now test their theories after construction concludes.
