Masks
By: Cooper Hoyt and James Thompson- 4th grade Mrs. Amy Gray's Classroom
This school year is different because we have to wear masks and wearing masks are not bad at all. Masks keep us safe. Masks are keeping us safe from spreading Covid19. You get mask breaks lots of times. Mask breaks are outside, and we spread out so that we are not close to each other. We have lanyards to hold our masks when they are not on our faces. When we are wearing masks, we don’t have to smile for pictures, and when it is cold outside, it keeps our noses warm. The masks also keep out some bad smells. People get to wear the type of masks they like, such as black, tie-dye, and decorative like space, crayon face, and monsters mouths. It can be fun to pick out cool masks. Plus, at the end of the day, we don’t even realize we are wearing masks. It is a big change, but masks aren’t all bad.

Happy retirement to Cheryl Schwab, District #100 Assistant Accountant!

The 8th annual Wounded Warrior Run was held virtually. JCMS students raised $6100 (a record donation) for the Jerseyville & Grafton American Legions. Our top 3 contributors were: 5-Mason Burney, 6-Madelyn Hagen, 7-Lucy Hunter. A special thanks to Vernon Timke and Bruce Olmstead from the local legions for coming to accept the donations. Great work JCMS students!!

Jersey CUSD#100 would like to thank all past and present Veterans for the sacrifices you have made for us. Since we can’t meet in person, this is our virtual thank you to all of you. #Jersey100Proud

JCHS Students:
In honor of Veterans Day, this Tuesday will be Red, White, and Blue Day!

Hi West Elementary friends! Each month we focus on a specific character trait. During the month of October we focused on responsibility. Ms. Alice W. was our first ever remote learner character award winner! Alice's teacher says that she is responsible because she gets all of her work done and attends all Google meets. Great job Alice!

Several JCHS vocalists were chosen for the ILMEA District IV Choir Festival. Congratulations to all!

Congratulations to JCHS instrumentalists selected for ensembles for District IV ILMEA. Congrats also to Tyler Welsh & Owen Weber for having top scores on their instruments!
