Grafton Fourth Grade would like to thank Ranger Bob from Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge for coming out today as part of the Every Kid Outdoors program! They learned so much about the migrating waterfowl that come through our area!

Happy World Occupational Therapy Day!
Today, we celebrate the incredible work of our very own Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, Mckenzie Dixon.
Mckenzie, we're incredibly fortunate to have you on our team. Your efforts and contributions have made a world of difference, and we can't thank you enough!

Mrs. L. Heitzig’s class created Fact Family Communities today in Math! Students had to get their “house plans” (fact family) approved before they made their house. Students then worked with their team to create a community. Students drew roads, stores, hospitals, movie theaters, animals, football fields, airports, and schools to complete their community!

JCMS 6th Grade Field Trip
St. Louis Science Center
Our 6th graders had an amazing day of learning at the Science Center today!

Congrats to Merris McDuffie & Chris West on being selected to be a part of EIU's Honor Jazz Combo Festival Day. They will be traveling to EIU on Monday, November 6th for an all day workshop and performance that evening. Only 10 students total were selected for this honor.

Mrs. Beauchamp's second-grade class would like to thank Mrs. Heitzig and her advanced design class for turning our student's drawings on paper into an actual stuffed monster. We were absolutely thrilled to see our drawing come to life in such a creative and imaginative way.

JCMS Cookout!
We had the best day at the JCMS 1st Quarter reward! Students who passed all 1st Quarter classes, received 0 major infractions, and less than 3 minor infractions were treated to a super fun cookout complete with grilled dogs, chips, cookies, sodas, games, and music from our very own DJ - Mr. Schroeder! We have amazing students at JCMS! ⭐️ 🐾

Panther Kids Club showed off their creativity painting pumpkins. Thank you to Bayer for donating the pumpkins!

Ms. Striegel’s class at JCHS teamed up with Mr. Snyder's woods class to build some awesome planter boxes and plant together! And guess what's next? We're heading to Ms. Mitchell’s art class to give these boxes a splash of color with our creativity! We've had an amazing time making memories and building something beautiful together!

The JCHS Book Club, in conjunction with the BtB after school enrichment program, is back for its second year! Led by JCHS librarian Mrs. Leslie, these students and staff members enjoy reading and discussing a variety of books, as well as building deeper connections to the world, within themselves, and with each other.
The first book they are reading this year is on the 2024 Illinois Teen Readers' Choice Lincoln Award list. Book club members hope to continue to read books from this list in order to participate in the statewide readers' choice vote later in the Spring. The award and program is named after former President Abraham Lincoln, with a goal to encourage teens to read and become lifelong readers.

Ms. Beauchamp's students have reached their 100 read aloud book challenge! They celebrated with a munch and read.
