West kindergarten and first grade students have been working very hard this week taking their MAP tests! Here is a glimpse into Mrs. Beuttel's classroom .
Mrs. Kuebrich recently led an enrichment lesson on Kindness at Panther Kidz Club at West Elementary. Students listened to a book about different ways to be kind, shared ways they had been/could be kind to others, and then they used colored ice to paint posters to place in the building to remind everyone to always be kind!
JCMS Panthers Volleyball had another good night at home. Both 7th and 8th grade won against East Alton Middle School.

JCMS STEM Teacher, Bonnie Lair, has been nominated for the NHL/NHLPA’s Most Valuable Teacher award!
As part of this nomination, there is the opportunity for our school to be recognized by the NHL/NHLPA for our STEM accomplishments this year which includes a $10,000 award to go towards Environmental Sustainability Resources for the District donated by SAP!

A huge congratulations to Benjamin Zimmerman for spending his week in Peoria representing Jersey 100 by making State and performing in the All-State Choir. Benjamin left for State on Wednesday and performed at the ILMEA All-State Concert on Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Peoria Civic Center Arena. The JCHS Fine Arts and the whole Jersey 100 community could not be more proud.
A huge congratulations to Lauren Lyons for spending her week in Peoria representing Jersey 100 by making State and performing in the All-State Orchestra on Tuba. She was placed 1st chair in her Ensemble and was 1 of 20 tuba players selected in the state. Lauren left for State on Wednesday and performed at the ILMEA All-State Concert on Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Peoria Civic Center Arena. Mrs. Warren's 6th-grade social studies classes embarked on an engaging exploration of Ancient Egypt, immersing themselves in the rich tapestry of its history and culture. The culmination of their studies took the form of a captivating museum exhibit proudly displayed in JCMS's library. Tasked with the exciting challenge of showcasing their newfound knowledge, students were given the freedom to choose their preferred project type. The innovative Makerspace at JCMS became a hub of creativity as students crafted various projects. This interdisciplinary approach not only deepened the students' understanding of Ancient Egypt but also showcased the power of hands-on learning in the modern educational landscape.

JCHS Boys Wrestling hosted a triangular last night with East Alton Wood River and Litchfield. The Panthers were victorious with team wins over EAWR and Litchfield!
It was a special night as the program celebrated and recognized four senior student athletes. Congratulations to Anil Calis, Kaeden Hutchens, James Busch and Connor Chin. All four seniors recorded at least one win on the night!
