What makes bridges so strong? Students in Mrs. Burneyś 4th grade class learned all about the different bridge types and the construction and function of each. Students were to design a bridge that would hold the most weight possible. The bridge could only be made from two pieces of paper. They collaborated with their groups and carried out investigations to test each of their prototypes. From doing their tests, they had to determine how to make their bridge even stronger. #Jersey100Proud

Mrs. Lamer's 4th grade students put their geometry skills to the test programming robots. The students first created a path for the robot to follow. The path included acute, obtuse, and right angles. When they programmed their robot they had to decide how many degrees, at what speed, and for how many seconds the robot should roll. Their programs did not work the first 4-5 tries, but the students used their problem solving skills to get their robot back on track. It was great to see the perseverance in problem solving these students displayed. #Jersey100Proud
