
Junior Reese Lorton is pictured with a copy of her first published article in the Jersey County Journal. Reese serves as an editor for JCHS's student newspaper, The JCHS Roar, and plans to major in journalism upon graduation. Ms. Beiermann's students completed their study of the Bill of Rights by creating projects in the new Makerspace at JCMS. The students did a great job developing creative ways to explain the Bill of Rights. Thank you to Mrs. Evans for displaying the creations in the JCMS IMC.

The fun continues after school hours at JCMS. It's been an exciting week with both volleyball and wrestling kicking off their seasons. Panther Kids Club students still have plenty of energy to have fun and learn.

The JCHS Competitive Cheer Squad competed at Alton High School on November 26th. The Panthers had an excellent performance that qualified them for the ICCA State Competition in January. Congratulations, ladies!

The JCHS and JCMS Choirs, under the direction of Margaret Bear and Waylon Schroeder, performed Christmas tunes together on Saturday afternoon at the Downtown Country Christmas Festival.

Mrs. Bick's class had fun making a "stained glass" turkey for Thanksgiving!


Kindergarten celebrated Thanksgiving with a “Hallway Feast” and rotations that included several activities such as Thanksgiving Bingo, Roll a Turkey, and Painting a turkey! They continued their fun by playing "Stuff the Turkey" in PE with Mrs. Ray.


Mrs. Bick's class enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving meal on Tuesday afternoon.


JCMS students in Mrs. Meyers and Mrs. Mitchell's classes prepared an amazing Thanksgiving meal today for their families! The students planned, shopped, decorated, cooked, and served the meal. We have some AWESOME young people at JCMS!






JCHS Librarian Mrs. Leslie and select members of the JCHS book club wrapped up their first book of the school year with a special virtual visit with the author, Jeff Zentner. They read and discussed Zentner's latest book, In The Wild Light, during the month of October as part of the Beyond the Bells after school enrichment program. They can't wait to begin reading their second book next week.


Quarter 2 is off to a good start at JCMS with all of these Pawsative panthers.





On Saturday, November 18th, the JCHS National Honor Society students kicked off the holiday season by ringing bells for the Salvation Army. Students volunteered all day long at both Walmart entrances, Sinclairs, and Farm & Home. NHS is proud to give back and support the Salvation Army annually in this endeavor!

Megan Maness and Emily Pryor, both JCHS Seniors, recently completed their Emergency Medical Technician Certification through Jersey Community Hospital, instructed by Nathan Bishop!
These ladies were recognized at the Board of Education meeting for this tremendous accomplishment. Representing JCH is Austin Darr, EMT and Ryan Motley, Paramedic. Thank you for your services that you provide to our community!


East Elementary students rocked the Girls On The Run 5K in St. Louis this Saturday! Two months of hard work paid off. Kudos to the amazing coaches for their support and guidance!
