JCMS Pawsitive Panthers for the beginning of November.
Every Wednesday at JCMS students get to participate in a variety of electives.
This week in the Cooking with Class elective, JCMS students learned about where pumpkins come from, the state that produces the most pumpkins, and enjoyed an easy to make pumpkin pie recipe.
Students in Mrs. Margherio's i-Ready math class have been working hard on completing their i-Ready personalized lessons. Congratulations to Jaxon Howell, Nora Campion, Hudson Vetter, Zoey DeSherlia, Sawyer Sanders, and Jaxx Shain on completing and passing at least 40 personalized i-Ready math lessons.
Nine JCHS students performed at the ILMEA District IV Festival, the largest jazz group JCHS has ever sent! Congrats to Jacob Hetzel, Islee Hileman, Myles McDuffie, Abigail Wedig, Sophie Hetzel, Jovee Hileman, Roanna Newton, Kiley Pickel, and Kennedy Pohlman!
JCHS Illinois State Scholars - Class of 2025
Jersey Community High School Principal Mr. Thomas Leslie is pleased to announce that 18 students from the JCHS graduating class of 2025 have been designated as Illinois State Scholars.
The following students have been selected based on class rank and SAT scores:
Abbigail Benz, Jaxon Brunaugh, Corah Derrick, Dax Goetten, Brayden Groves, Kate Hudson, Ari Leslie, Reese Lorton, Matthew Maag, Maggie Maxeiner, Kiley Pickel, Caitlyn Poletti, Katie Schultz, Dinah Slusser, Amelia Strebel, Isaac Wargo, Annabelle Yamnitz, and Corree Yates.
JCHS Principal Thomas Leslie states "we are incredibly proud of our eighteen seniors who were named Illinois State Scholars from the Class of 2025. This is an honor that distinguishes these students among the best of the best in the state of Illinois and beyond. These students are bright, determined, and they make Jersey very proud."

Congratulations to our East Elementary Girls on the Run team for completing their 5K in Forest Park today! These girls have worked incredibly hard over the past 10 weeks, and they have so much to be proud of. A huge thank you to all the amazing coaches who volunteered their time and energy to make this season a success.

JCHS student-athletes had another "On the Prowl Leadership Session" this morning. Today's session was about the three levels of commitment, assessing commitment to our OTP culture, how OTP leaders can influence teammates, and how to overcome negative self talk.

The Middle School girls' basketball team concluded their regular season tonight with a home game. We took a moment to honor our 8th grade players, recognizing their dedication to their team. We're incredibly proud of all their hard work.
Both teams will be off to regionals in the next couple of weeks.

Our East Elementary Girls on the Run team made a BIG impact for their Community Impact Project by picking up trash at the local park! It was hard work, but they had so much fun doing it! We're proud of these amazing girls for giving back to their community.

The Jersey Community High School student members of the FFA Ag Sales team advanced from their local competition to compete on October 29th in the District Agriculture Sales Career Development Event hosted by Brandt in Springfield, IL. After much study, practice, and hands-on experience they took 3rd place and will be advancing to the state competition. This team will travel at the end of November to compete against the top placing teams in the State of IL. The team members are from left to right Meredith Dougherty, Katie Cornelius, Ashlen Scott, and Clay Wadlow.
