We are thrilled to announce that our keynote speaker is Dr. Lori Hopkins, a former United States Marine Corps Military Police Officer. Her inspiring journey and dedication to service will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact.
We extend a warm invitation to all Veterans, their families, and members of our community. Let's come together to show our gratitude and respect for the brave men and women who have served our country.
Following the assembly, we will host a small reception to honor our Veteran Guests and their families. Your presence and support mean the world to us.
JCMS students in the top selling classes from our chocolate fundraiser were treated to a trip to McCarry's Dairyland on Friday! Our students enjoyed their treats and raved about how friendly the staff was. The owners of Dairyland made a point to say that our students were courteous and well behaved! Panther Pride!

Grafton Elementary would like to give a shout-out to the Stadium Theater in Jerseyville for making today a wonderful day for our students and staff. We were able to watch Incredibles 2 and had an "incredible" time!

Second graders drew monsters on paper then JCHS students brought them to life.
Mrs. Kolkmeyer's Adobe students created and illustrated books and sublimation keychains that featured the hand drawn monsters. Mrs. Heitzig's Intro and Advanced Design classes created handed sewn plush toys that mimicked the drawings.
This was a well received surprise by the 2nd graders and the high school design teams have full hearts. We love collaborating with each other and connecting our Jersey Panthers! 🩵 🐾

8th grade takes a big win over Alton!
JCHS Spanish Department honored family and friends who have passed this week celebrating ¨Dia de los Muertos¨ (Day of the Dead). Students completed several projects such as calaveras de azucar (sugar skulls), barriletes (kites), calacas (skeletons), cempasúchiles (marigolds), and ofrendas (altars). It was a special day remembering loved ones.
Girls Physical Education soaked up the beautiful weather last week on a field trip to the Lions Club/Wittman Park Complex! They enjoyed the Pickleball courts and Fitness Court along with the walking track for a fun day of fitness activities! Thank you Mrs. McCreary, Mr. Breden, Mrs. Woolsey, and Mrs. Bishop for setting up this opportunity to utilize these amazing facilities in our community!
JCMS Boys Basketball wins both the 7th and 8th grade games over St. John's in their season opener!
Mr. Stebel and his law classes welcomed Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lisa Holder White. Justice Holder White gave a presentation and offered a Q and A session. Thank you, Justice Holder White for taking the time to visit JCHS to talk about the Illinois Judicial System!
The All State Tennis Certificates arrived in the mail! Congratulations to Libby McCormick (3rd Team), Tessa Crawford (2nd Team) and Elise Noble (2nd Team) on their All State Selections!
Recently, Jersey 100 librarians and digital coaches attended the annual Illinois School Library Educators' conference. Not only did they hear from many amazing authors and speakers, they also got to present a breakout session of their own about the amazing things happening in our Jersey 100 libraries! The final highlight of the conference was Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias keynote speech on the importance of the freedom to read.
JCHS Foods class had a special guest speaker: Mrs. Chelsea Stuckey, owner of The Pink Spatula.
During this demonstration, Chelsea shared her expertise on cookie decorating and students learned some incredible techniques for turning plain cookies into edible works of art!
A big thank you to Mrs. Chelsea Stuckey for taking the time to share her passion and knowledge with us. It was a treat to say the least! 🍪
Ms. Anderson's PreK class loved showing off their costumes for Halloween!
Mrs. Davis read the story, Pumpkin Jack and prepared a science lesson of decomposition for Mrs. Goetten and Mrs. Jones’ classes. On Earth Day in April we will discover what happens to our class pumpkin.
